Alfred is a productivity application for Mac OS X, which boosts your efficiency with hotkeys, keywords and text expansion. ![]() The built-in adaptive abbreviation search algorithm ignores. The bricklayer doesn't and shouldn't have any knowledge of the accounting software the builder uses, he just gives back an invoice when the work is done (an event), he doesn't call enter invoice, or pay contractor on the accounts software. LaunchBar not only searches for items with matching initial characters (SYS > System Preferences) or contained character sequences (PREF > System Preferences), but you can use any combination of characters, provided that they appear in the same order (SPF > System P re f erences). For example, I’ve been co-authoring a paper on somnolent information-processing theory. LaunchBar 5.5 also now enables you to run Automator workflows, including the capability to pass text or file arguments and then return results back to LaunchBar, and it adds sharing of workflows via import and export. To do this really productively, reuse the same abbreviations that you used in your launcher. The Objective Development blog has a good introductory overview of this new feature. Think about it, a builder hires a bricklayer. You can use text expansion utilities as bookmark managers, by themselves or in concert with launchers (e.g., LaunchBar or Alfred). or create an interface that is common between them so you can pass down that contract to bar.Įither way, you will need to refactor this in a way that logical dependent projects only take care of responsibility that makes sense for them at that level. Text expansion allows a user to shave off time when creating written communication. ![]() Use an event/delegate and let the window manager subscribe so it can action what ever it needs on Bar. #Launchbar text expansion how toIf Barneeds to access the window manager functionality. ![]() ![]() Granted this is a rating that tells me that Neil O’Donnell was better than Bart Starr but I digress. If you value passer rating as the measure by which to grade QBs (I don’t but you certainly could) Rodgers is 9.4% percent better than all of the other quarterbacks to ever quarterback. Whatever you want to say about the “new” NFL and how its rules promote passing and inflate the statistics of quarterbacks but Rodgers is the all time leader in passer rating by 9.4%. His level of play really should require us to stop and smell the roses. It’s unwise to continue to take Rodgers for granted. “Holy sh*t, have you seen this Rodgers guy?!” is just too easy. Those are are the topics to research, to analyze, to expand upon. It’s much easier to write about the rapid development of Damarious Randall, BJ Raji’s resurgence or how the offensive tackles are struggling. It’s hard to expand on: “Aaron Rodgers is awesome, right?”. I understand why it’s more interesting to write about the rest of the team. He has thrown for 45 TDs and 5400 yards at Lambeau since that play happened. In fact, Rodgers is often disqualified from radio and podcast conversations because he is so excellent. Packers Twitter doesn’t discuss QB1 in great excess. His iconic status aside, McGinn is on the outside looking in at Lambeau Field. As I watched Aaron Rodgers dismantle the Kansas City Chiefs defense last night I thought to myself, “Man, it’s been a long time since I wrote anything about Rodgers.” Then I looked around at my favorite Packer media outlets and realized no one has really written much about Rodgers recently either. That means he covers the games by watching on television, rather than sitting in the press box and talking to players in the locker room afterward. McGinn, who left the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel this year and launched his own site,, is not being credentialed by the Packers this season. ![]() ![]() Every third week, Moulitsas has a standing phone call with congressional powerbroker Rep. This record, combined with the sheer vigor and clarity of his online manifestos, has brought Moulitsas, a 34-year-old Californian whom nobody had heard of until three years ago, to the attention of the Democratic establishment, first as a resented adversary and now, increasingly, a kind of part-time sage, an affiliate member. And, thanks to his early and enthusiastic backing of Howard Dean’s campaign for the party’s presidential nomination, Moulitsas became perhaps the key player in Dean’s Internet-based rise to prominence. In addition, Moulitsas used the site to raise $500,000 for Democratic candidates in the last election cycle–making him one of the party’s top fund-raisers. That’s more than the top 10 opinion magazines–of both left and right–combined, more readers than any political publication has had, ever, in the history of the world. The site, which has existed for only around three and a half years, now has 3.7 million readers each week. Moulitsas’s appearance before the Democratic caucus was a verbal version of what he writes every day on his blog, DailyKos. “I’m not sure everyone really knew what to think,” one Senate aide told me. As he held forth, urging Democrats to rely upon technology and embrace partisanship and confrontation, Moulitsas’s audience was one-part bewildered, one-part overwhelmed, and maybe a little inspired. DAILY KOS STUPID LIBERAS FULLHe can be so intense and high-strung, so full of kinetic energy, that the sheer performance of his speeches–he never writes them out, just talks off-the-cuff–can be distracting, like watching snakes fighting in a bag. Moulitsas told the assembled crowd that they, the establishment, had mismanaged party strategy for too long and that he, Markos, had a better plan. The party had just lost its third election in a row, and his audience, a self-flagellatory group at the best of times, was feeling glum and a little bit desperate. But Moulitsas, who is the world’s biggest political blogger, says it differently, with a freshly arrived-at and deeply felt zeal, as if he himself has discovered the place and its pathologies anew. Many people, of course, say that they hate Washington. I hate Washington,” says Markos Moulitsas Zuniga. ![]() ![]() ![]() It wanted to create a place where customers could manage all aspects of their financial lives. ![]() Wells Fargo’s digital team wasn’t content with having made history developing a new way to bank. One customer in Oregon admitted that “If you had asked me 18 months ago would I be doing online banking and maybe bill paying I would have said no… Ironically, I am a real paper-and-pen oriented person but the debit card and online banking makes it easier to work with two people on one account.” At the same time, Wells Fargo began banking in Oregon, Arizona, Minnesota, and other states. Importantly, online banking customers weren’t just from tech savvy Silicon Valley. In 1999, one million customers used Wells Fargo’s web platform to manage their finances, about 10% of all online banking accounts nationwide. #WELLS FARGO ONLINE LOGIN SOFTWARE#In the software or website debate, the website was winning, and Wells Fargo was leading the way. Prodigy and Quicken (now using its own website connected to the banks) continued as a customer platform into the 2000s, but the tide was turning. We got a real sense of getting something done.”ĭuring those first years, the website rapidly evolved as a way customers could access their account information and perform transactions. One member of the digital team later summarized the experience: “It was a very fast implementation, and it was great for our customers, since they got value-add every six weeks or so… but it was also really great for us. Quickly the bank added new functions and over the next few years customers gained the ability to transfer money in between accounts, set up recurring bill payments, and more. In May 1995, Wells Fargo made history again by being the first bank to use its website as a platform for customers to access their accounts.Īt first, the experience was limited to passively reviewing account activity and statements. The team built new security features and installed new servers to handle the volume of online activity. Another common question asked by customers was: When can I check my account balance on the website?Ī small task force was established to take actions on building better online experiences for customers. It was one of Wells Fargo’s first learning curves in understanding customers’ expectations online. Customers used the built-in feedback button to submit their frustration and disappointment with the slow speed. Unfortunately, with dial-up internet access the norm, the colorful stagecoach pictures downloaded one line at a time and took several minutes to load the whole site. Photo Credit: Wells Fargo Corporate Archives. Launched in 1994, the Wells Fargo website was mainly informational at first. Wells Fargo started offering online account access through Prodigy in 1989, and by the mid-1990s it found that only about 10,000 of its 3.5 million customers used the service. Customers had to use floppy disks and dial up modems to connect to their information. Customers had to buy a software package and pay a monthly fee for their software’s subscription in addition to any fees charged by their bank. The sophisticated system had severe drawbacks. They could also transfer money, read news, play games, and even order groceries online using the community bulletin feature. Customers using the Prodigy service were able to access their bank accounts from the comfort of home for the first time. Prodigy, owned by Sears, offered a secure network that Wells Fargo and other banks and businesses allowed to access their own company computer systems. Other software companies realized that there was potential to become the platform of choice for customers to do their banking. Customers still had to input their transactions by hand, and there was no way for them to easily import a spreadsheet from the bank. Wells Fargo saw the potential for customer convenience, and agreed to sell the software in its branches. It allowed customers to keep detailed financial histories and even print checks. In 1984, technology company Quicken launched its new bookkeeping software. We recommend washing them after every 30 wears or once a month. If your extensions feel like they’re becoming increasingly difficult to style, this is likely a sign that there is product build-up and they need to be washed. In addition, we recommend only using a wide-tooth comb or your hands to brush through the ponytail. We don’t recommend dyeing/toning, using water-based products, washing or heat styling (such as straightening, blow-drying or curling). Please note that unlike our Straight Clip-In Ponytail Extension, the care instructions for the Curly Clip-In Ponytail Extension are different in order to preserve the curl pattern. You can use your best judgment on how often to wash them, however, we recommend only washing them once there is a lot of product build up. As a general rule, the less you wash your extensions the longer they will last. Since your extensions aren't subject to the oils produced by your scalp the way your natural hair is, you don’t have to wash them as often.
